Church-Planting in Honduras

God is blessing us in Honduras. Language school continues to be our primary focus right now, and Spanish is coming back to me (Andrew) even faster than I originally estimated, which is great. I guess that is what happens when you study Spanish 40 hours a week. Amber has also found a tutor and just finished a productive second week of classes. A young lady from church is watching Sofia while Amber studies, so Sofia is getting a dose of Spanish too, and starting to pick up phrases. When we aren’t studying, we are creating as many opportunities as possible to get to know people in our area and practice our Spanish. We are enjoying this time, but we are looking forward to finishing language school so we can begin the ministry God has for us in Tegucigalpa. In the meantime, pray that we would learn what we need to and be a blessing to those around us.

God has blessed the ministry here with the opportunity to have a medial clinic on their property. Several times a year they have a medical team come down and perform surgeries free of charge to people in need. I got the tour of the facility the other week and God is greatly using this to open the door to give people the Gospel. They are having another one this week, so pray that the gospel would be heard.

We got to celebrate Sofia’s second birthday on the 24th. It was a great family day, there were many laughs heard, bubbles blown, and pieces of cake eaten. Please pray that as Sofia grows and our next baby comes, that they would come to Jesus as their personal Savior. We also want to mention a praise in regards to Amber’s pregnancy. She had been progressively feeling worse and worse over the past two months, having extreme fatigue, getting out of breath, muscle spasms, lack of strength, and periods of dizziness. We thought it was just the move, the heat, or general pregnancy tiredness, but her most recent appointment revealed that she is severely depleted in several vitamins and minerals, which has led to anemia and hypocalcemia. This is a praise because now she is taking large doses of the vitamins she needs and is starting to feel much better.

We can’t write about this month without mentioning the Goins family – the missionary family we are with here in Honduras. Please be in prayer for them; just a week ago they lost their 19-year-old son Jadon who was struck by a vehicle while doing lawn maintenance at Pensacola Christian College. The Goins were able to go to the States for the funeral and the church here in Honduras was able to participate via livestream. There really are no words to say, but our hearts are grieving with them. We just ask that you pray much for the Goins family, and all those who loved Jadon and miss him. Please pray for wisdom for us, that we would be able to be the hands and feet of Jesus to encourage and love the family as they walk through such a deep loss.

We are reminded that life is not certain, and each day is a gift. Each interaction we have with a person could be our last. Such a reminder motivates us to make every moment count for Jesus. Thank you for helping us do that here in Honduras. Thank you for your prayers.

Glenn Ambrosio – Phillipines

Brother Glenn presented in person to us on Easter Sunday. It was such a blessing to have him and his 2 daughters with us this past Sunday! He showed us pictures from his ministry in the Philippines and gave us an update. You can see his update on our Facebook live video from Easter Sunday.

Glenn took over the church that his dad lead as a missionary to the Philippines for the last 30 years. Glenn and his church have been praying for numbers at his church. He heard the quote, “If you want to keep your people, use them.” and he has been training people in the ministry. Glenn’s son Shawn, who is 16 years old, recently preached his first message! While Glenn is here in the States, 6 men have stepped up to lead while he has been gone. Glenn’s brother has also returned to the ministry which was an answered prayer!

They renovated an old school and have turned it into their sanctuary. The before and after pictures are inspiring! They now have a great place to worship and their numbers are increasing!

They have baptized 75 people since 2018!
